About Us

In the beginning...

Louigi Moto was founded in 1999 by Keynsham Hotelier Richard Llewellin. Rich was racing in the NG Road Racing series on a Ducati 748 as part of "Old Gits Ducat Racing" and was also running the Bristol branch of the Ducati Owners Club.

It was this association with the DOC that allowed Rich to acquire some of the specialist tools so that he and fellow members could maintain their own bikes.

By 2003 Rich had eased himself out of the family business, having worked during the day on Ducati’s and at nights in the Hotel. In the summer of 2003 Louigi Moto became a limited company and moved to its own premises.

The business has continued to grow rapidly and in May 2007, the business had to move to bigger premises and the work force has grown to four.

The idea behind Louigi Moto...

The reason for starting Louigi Moto was to offer a quality service at a reasonable rate, and that principle still stands today. Louigi Moto offer a true independent Ducati service, and a true alternative to the main dealer.

Our passion is with the Ducati marque, but we have been known to fettle the odd Moto Guzzi or Aprilia. Visit our workshop and you could find a 900 bevel on one ramp and a 749RS on another.

We don't just service bikes, during 2007 we have already rebuilt over 20 Ducati engines and completed three 916 Strada restorations alongside our other work.

It's not all work...

Louigi Moto are never far from a race track and Dominic Cann, our internet guru is the reigning Ducati Sporting Club Desmo Due Champion. Other notable riders include Tom Luton (1026 Special) and Dean Nicholls 749RS, who both compete in the NG Road Racing Sound of Thunder class and Steve Joy rides our 748 Thunderbike in the popular BEMSEE race series.
